Job Description

As a translator at Lingua, you’ll apply your extensive language skills to clearly and accurately translate a wide range of documentation, training materials, and software for a world leader in electronic medical records technology. Your input will help shape our localization efforts, quality assurance and terminology maintenance.

Translators are given a high degree of autonomy and independence, and are responsible for managing and executing important translation projects. You’ll be actively involved in our clinical, administrative and financial products and work closely with our implementation, technical support and sales teams to produce innovative software for the Dutch healthcare industry.

Salary will be based on qualifications, and a thorough benefits package provided.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the flow of documents through the translation process
  • Be able to identify when to follow the source text literally and when to take liberties in translation choices
  • Communicates with new customers to help them understand the processes of translation
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Dutch HBO or university degree, preferably in the field of translation/language/linguistics
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Experience as a translator is preferred
  • Ability to ensure translation maintains appropriate feeling, tone and style
  • Understand idioms and common phrases of English (source language)
